My name is Allen Hopkins. We have met before. I have earned a Master of Arts in Art Studio with a cognate in art history and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting. I am searching for opportunities to work in public programming at art galleries and art museums. Currently, I will be doing some independent contracting work as the director of international outreach for the museum in a couple of weeks. I feel that the Artists Collective is the right organization to assist also. I would like to help to provide services to the Artists Collective’s members, like the diversity of the members, am skilled in both art, art history, and various computer applications, and have 13 months of art gallery experience and almost a year of museum experience. With my degrees and experience, I can assist with learning and engagement at the Artists Collective.

I would like to provide any services that I can to the artists at the Artists Collective. I know that the Artists Collective gives artists the chance to teach workshops and hold exhibitions at the gallery. Also, I know that the gallery gives artists the chance to sell their artwork at the gallery through Gallery Shop and currently the 2024 Holiday Artistian Market too. I would like to provide artists of all backgrounds with advice on making artwork and management skills. We can make sure that Artists Collective’s members can become both successful artists and businesspeople.

I like that the gallery seeks out a diverse membership of races, cultural backgrounds, and religious faiths too. When a diverse group of people are given an equal opportunity to be a member of an organization, they are more capable of living peacefully with each other. In addition, they are both able to become successful. When a diverse group of people are given the same opportunity to join an organization, a just organization is formed, and conflicts over unjust treatment can be prevented.

I have the knowledge and experience to assist this diverse group of members. I have earned a Master of Arts in Art Studio with a cognate in art history and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting .I am skilled in financial planning and management; Beginning  Spanish; African, Modern, and Contemporary art; digital and manual photography; Canva; Microsoft Word, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Excel, and Forms; Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; Zoom; Squarespace ; Google Docs, Calendar, and Maps; art handling; inventory management; traditional and social media marketing; program and web development; and event planning. In addition to my degrees and skills, I was a gallery intern at the 701 Center for Contemporary Art and now am one at the Union County Arts Council. On Thursday and Friday, I volunteer at the Spartanburg Art Museum too. Again, I will be doing some independent contracting work as the director of international outreach for the museum in a couple of weeks. With my degrees, skills, and experience, I can develop new public programs in addition to providing services to the Artists Collective’s members.

Like the Artists Collective, I have assisted artists using my management skills. At the both 701 Center for Contemporary  Art and Union County Arts Council, I assisted and / or assist with planning gallery events and exhibitions , researching artists, creating labels for artwork , welcoming visitors to the center and providing them with general information about exhibitions and events, photographing artwork, handling artwork, writing a press release for an artist, and using traditional and social media marketing and web development to promote the gallery ,gallery events, and exhibitions,  taking care of the center’s art ,exhibition supplies, and miscellaneous items.

However, at the 701 Center for Contemporary Art ,I assisted with growing and retaining the gallery's membership base, taking care of the center’s art ,exhibition supplies, and miscellaneous items, writing an artist biography and grant proposal using Microsoft Word , designing a page for the gallery’s website using Canva, editing contracts between the center and jurors using Google Docs ,responding to the emails of artists using Outlook , and creating an inventory of artwork and a budget proposal using Excel and saving them using OneDrive .

However, at the Union County Arts Council, I assist with using traditional and social media marketing, and web development to promote gallery events and exhibitions, planning events and exhibitions, judging artwork, and securing a partnership with the Spartanburg Art Museum.
